The availability of accommodation depends on your category as a student at Wycliffe Hall.
Ministerial Students
As a Church of England training institution, Wycliffe Hall is obliged to give priority to accommodating Church of England ordinands, although we will also try to accommodate non-Church of England ministerial students.
For married students and families we have a limited stock of one to three bedroom properties, generally located near the college (within walking or cycling distance). The rent for these properties is a little below the market rate.
In special circumstances there is also the option of weekly commuting: living in college during the week in a study bedroom, and returning home at weekends. This option is considered on a case-by-case basis. Married students living out of college will be provided with a study desk in college, generally in a shared study room.
For single students we have both term time rooms and all year round rooms. The latter are limited in number and reserved for those who do not have alternative accommodation in the holidays. These rooms are generally spacious (being in period properties), and students make them into homely living and working spaces. There are shared kitchen facilities for use during the holidays, when the college kitchens are closed. Term time rooms are generally smaller, and need to be vacated during the holidays, when the college hosts a number of residential conferences.
Non-Ministerial Students
We regret that we are usually unable to provide accommodation for independent and postgraduate students. We will, however, try to assist you to find the accommodation you need in Oxford.
We aim to provide study desks in college for all students. Postgraduate and independent students generally have specially allocated shared study space.
