Women at Wycliffe

Welcome to the page specifically for women exploring training her at Wycliffe. This page will give you a flavour of life for women student at Wycliffe.   Because women and men train alongside each other, you will find curriculum matters on other pages.

Staff Team

All students have a tutor who is responsible for their general welfare.  However, there are three women members of staff at Wycliffe who are particularly responsible for making sure training at Wycliffe Hall is a positive experience for women.

Revd Jenni Williams is the Dean for Women as well as Tutor in Biblical Studies.  Jenni’s responsibility in the senior management team is raise issues that are particularly important to women. Jenni also deals with any issues that may arise in how we live together as a community.

Revd Dr Liz Hoare is Tutor in Mission, Spirituality and Prayer, and part of her job is to offer spiritual direction. She is able to give time to students as they explore what their calling to ministry and leadership means.

Both Liz and Jenni are ordained and bring experience of being a woman in the parish setting.  Both of them are available for pastoral care, advice and guidance.

Dr Cathy Ross is Tutor in Mission. Cathy has been a mission partner and can offer support and advice for those who might want to take that path. Cathy says ‘I enjoy supporting women students in exploring their vocation and their approach to ministry. Gender issues is a particular interest so I am interested in exploring how gender makes a difference to the way we engage in ministry.’

Life as a Woman Student

Besides the normal, mixed social life of the college, we organise events each term where the women staff and students can meet together. This is an opportunity to share experiences and challenges, and to pray together.

Please open the documents below for the thoughts of two of our current women students on life at Wycliffe.

If you have any other questions about life as a woman student, please do contact Revd Jenni Williams.
