Spouses

Wycliffe Hall welcomes all spouses to join in with as many of the college activities as they like - social events, chapel services, meals, fellowship groups and lectures. Spouses are free to use the library and borrow books and videos.

The college offers support for marriages and assists ministerial students and their spouses to attend a local Marriage Course.

Contact is organised by, and is primarily for, the husbands and wives of students at Wycliffe, helping them to

  • continue to nurture their relationship with God.
  • serve and support one another.
  • prepare for future ministries and parish life.
  • have fellowship, friendship and fun.

Contact meets on Tuesday evenings for worship and a time of prayer based on the topic for that evening followed by fellowship over coffee. On Thursdays there is a Bible Study from 1.15pm – 2.45pm, with a crèche session. Leadership is shared and there is usually a time of prayer for one another.

Children

All families are welcome to lunches at Wycliffe Hall, with the exception of Saturdays. Baby seats are available in the dining room.

Crèche

The Wycliffe crèche is situated in one of the college buildings and is a safe, well-equipped room for pre-school children and babies. We have a part-time crèche co-ordinator, Ann Croft, who runs three weekly crèche sessions and organises a wide range of fun and creative activities for children. There is also a team of volunteers from the college community who help out.

Crèche times:

Wednesdays     9.30am -11.15am
Thursdays         1.15pm -2.45pm (Bible study – see below)
Fridays               10.30am-12.15pm

Wednesday and Friday sessions are pre-booked on an annual basis and cost £3.50 per session. Wycliffe Hall funds the Thursday crèche with a nominal charge of £1 per session in order to provide a weekly crèche specifically for those attending the Contact Bible Study.

The room itself is a permanent fixture and parents are free to use the room and supervise their own children or to make informal arrangements amongst themselves for daytime babysitting.
