Certificate for Theology Graduates

A one or two-year Oxford University course for theology graduates, which involves writing extended essays on areas of your choice selected from the Bachelor of Theology syllabus. This programme is suitable for those who have a degree in Theology which did not adequately cover the foundational disciplines of biblical, historical and doctrinal study, or those who wish to study them further as part of their ministerial formation.

One-year candidates must take at least four papers chosen from the BTh syllabus, while two-year candidates must take at least eight. There are no compulsory papers, and there is an option to integrate two papers into a single extended essay of 15,000-17,000 words.  Each paper will be studied and assessed at a level appropriate to graduate students who have a first degree in Theology.

The choice of papers is usually agreed with the Director of Studies at the beginning of the course.
