The BA is the normal three-year degree in academic theology of the University of Oxford.
It involves 2 terms of work for the Preliminary Examination (Prelims), followed by 7 terms for the Final Honour School (FHS). If you already have a BA in a subject other than Theology, you can apply for ‘senior status’. This allows you to study for the BA in Theology in two years, rather than the usual three.
You can also read for the joint schools degree of Philosophy and Theology. We only accept applications from mature students (over the age of 21) to study for the BA in Theology and the BA in Philosophy and Theology.
